The Biloxi Shuckers are the Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, playing in the Southern League at Keesler Federal Park in downtown Biloxi. The stadium opened in 2015 with around six thousand seats, and the season runs from spring into early autumn.
For a visitor it is the best value evening in the city, and it is underused because people assume a casino town has nothing else on.
The park is small enough that every seat has a view, which is not true of a major league stadium at three times the price. It is downtown, within walking distance of the Town Green, the lighthouse and several hotels, so no driving is involved if you are staying on that stretch. Tickets are inexpensive, and minor league parks are built for families in a way that larger ones are not.
The name is a joke with a point. Biloxi's canneries shucked oysters by the millions from the 1880s onwards, and the team was named for the workers who did it after a public contest that also considered Shrimpers and Schooners.
The Southern League plays a split season, home stands run in blocks of several days, and the fixture list is published well in advance, so check whether the team is at home before you plan an evening around it. Away weeks are long.
Evening games in July and August are still hot and humid at first pitch. Gates, promotions, bag policies and ticket prices are set by the club and are revised; confirm on the club's own page rather than relying on any figure printed elsewhere, including here.
If the team is on the road, the equivalent cheap evening is the Biloxi Bay Bridge path at sunset, which is free.
